Liam Gleason’s final act of heroism saved four lives.
WNYT NewsChannel 13 in the Capital Region confirmed with the Center for Organ Donation that four people received life-saving transplants from Gleason’s organ donation.
In the beloved Siena coach’s final selfless act of organ donation, his Saints team, family and friends lined the hallway of Albany Medical for a Hero Walk. That act has directly saved the lives of others.

It’s one of the many ways legacy lives on. His uncle, Lou Bosch, has established the Coach Liam Gleason Memorial Scholarship in his honor. It will go to a student athlete who embodies leadership, dedication and hard work.
“When they took him out of intensive care and they walked him down the hospital, in the hospital lined with all these players and coaches and nurses and doctors. it was probably one of the most emotional things I’ve ever experienced. You know, it’s just a legacy to him,” said Bosch to News Channel 13.
The support of the lacrosse community has been overwhelming. A GoFundMe to support his wife and three kids is at 99% fulfilled, and programs across the country are rallying to support Gleason’s family. Donate here.
You can also support by ordering a Liam Strong shirt or a donation through the Siena Men's Lacrosse Coaches Discretionary Fund.
